Rowland side-pull is a unique type of bridle used in horse riding that skips the bit altogether. Instead, it communicates with the horse through gentle pressure on the nose and/or cheeks. Typically, it features a noseband and cheek pieces, and often includes extra padding to keep the horse comfortable. Side-pulls are a favorite among riders who prefer bitless options or are in training, as they offer a soft touch and promote the horse’s responsiveness to the rider’s signals without the harshness of a bit.
